Yoga is a discipline of Indian origin, which can be traced back  more than 5000 years.   The practice of yoga is a way of life whose purpose is to help us achieve a calm mind and to live in peace with oneself, finding fulfillment in one’s life.     The   most   common   form   of   yoga   in   the   west   is   HATHA   YOGA.      In   Sanskrit,   the   language   of   the   ancient   texts,   ‘hatha’   means   sun/moon, the   ha   is   ‘sun’,   representing   positive   energies,   the   ‘tha’   is   ‘moon’   representing   negative   energies.      The   word   ‘yoga’   means   union.      Our quest   is   to   come   back   to   a   place   of   harmony   within   ourselves   by   calming   the   mind   and   reconciling   the   duality   which   exists   in   our nature. A yoga class A yoga class will typically include 3 elements : 1. Postures  (ASANAS) 2. Breathing techniques (PRANAYAMA) 3. Relaxation (YOGA NIDRA) The   practice   of   yoga   is   a   personal   journey   with   oneself   not   forgetting   that      we   exist   in   relation   to   our   world   and   those   around   us.      Our yogic   ‘toolbox’   includes   concrete   methods   to   help   us   lead   a   more   serene   life,   in   harmony   with   our   true   nature   and   with   others.   The benefits of regular yoga practice can bring a sense of balance not only to your own life but for those close to you.
